Protecting your privacy is one of my fundamental responsibilities as a counsellor.
I am bound by my ethics and adherence to my professional body - the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy - to ensure confidentiality within their guidelines.
Please get in touch by phone or email if you have any questions about how I will ensure your right to confidentiality and privacy.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We will have an assessment session to outline the issues you are bringing and clarify what you want to get out of counselling.
We will then have six sessions to explore the issues and consider ideas and techniques to address them.
At the end of six sessions, we will review our work and discuss whether you will benefit from further sessions.
Where appropriate, I may set a task for you to think about between sessions, or I may ask you to keep a journal.
Following a joint assessment session, I will then meet with each individual to complete the history taking and goals for therapy.
Sessions will involve exploring issues from both perspectives and considering techniques and developing skills to resolve problems and strengthen the relationship.
Couple sessions last for 80mins and they may take place fortnightly rather than weekly to allow time for the couple to process and work on particular tasks assigned.
